Composite Bonding in Georgetown

You don’t need us to tell you how popular composite bonding is; otherwise, you wouldn’t have landed here. Chances are, you’re unhappy with the appearance of your smile, whether your teeth are too short, there are gaps in between your teeth, or you want to improve the overall colour. Composite bonding is the shortcut you need.

Using the same resin material used in composite veneers and even in white fillings, composite bonding is a fast, one-visit procedure that’s applied to your visible teeth to make them appear more even, straight and polished.

Are you suitable for composite bonding?

Advances in materials mean it can be used to disguise minor (and even larger) imperfections, such as closing small gaps, whitening teeth, and hiding minor tooth rotations, all while leaving your underlying teeth intact. It’s suitable for patients of all ages and can treat several smile conditions (often all at once), such as:

  • Gaps between teeth
  • Misaligned teeth
  • Damaged or chipped teeth
  • Discolouration or stubborn stains
  • Teeth are too short or uneven in shape or size
  • Worn-down or eroded teeth

How composite bonding treatment works

  1. We’ll start by meeting, hearing your goals and taking an exam of your oral health.
  2. From this, we’ll begin to design your new smile with composite digitally.
  3. Dr Lavington will choose a shade of resin that matches the natural colour of your teeth.
  4. We’ll carefully hand-sculpt the resin to your teeth, causing no damage.
  5. Dr Lavington will shape the resin and harden it with a special light.

The composite bonding procedure is shorter than veneers and can be completed in 30-90 minutes. It’s a completely reversible procedure that can be repeated without damaging your teeth, should you wish to change or refresh your smile later.

Composite bonding should last 5-7 years before showing signs of wear, but it can be easily renewed and refreshed to look as good as new. Regular dental appointments to polish them will also help the results last longer.
