Breaking down the Moxi Laser Treatment
Sciton’s innovative laser treatment is available year-round for all skin tones and types, treating pigmentation, uneven skin tone, and visible signs of ageing.
What is the treatment, and how does it work?
- A laser treatment that takes between 10 and 15 minutes
- Can be used on the face, neck, chest, arms, hands and legs
- Promotes new cell growth to target sun damage and ageing
- Considered as one of the most gentle laser treatments
- Conducted under topical numbing cream

Who is Moxi for?
- Those who want noticeable improvement without pain
- Those who want to avoid a long recovery often associated with deep resurfacing treatments
- Patients of all skin types and tones
- Patients with pigmentation concerns
- Those struggling with pigmentation associated with melasma
Moxi treatments are recommended not only for patients with existing pigmentation but also for those looking to improve tone and texture.
As Moxi makes skin appear smoother, brighter and more evenly balanced, patients can use it as part of their maintenance skin routine (prejuvenation) to delay visible signs of ageing, rather than wait until more aggressive intervention is needed.

What the treatment experience is like
- The typical Moxi session is quick, lasting 10-30 minutes
- How long the treatment takes depends on the area being treated
- The skin is cleansed first before a numbing cream is applied
- Patients will feel a warm, prickly sensation as the laser glides across the skin
- Motion tracking technology ensures the area is treated evenly
- Cool air can also be used to reduce any discomfort
- Following the treatment, mild redness and a sunburn-like warmth are common up to 60 minutes afterwards
- Aftercare includes moisturiser and a high SPF sunscreen (it’s advised to stay out of the sun for the next 48 hours), makeup is permitted to be worn 24 hours afterwards
If you’re looking to treat your face, we recommend arriving at the clinic make-up free.

When can you expect results
Most patients see initial improvements within a week, with the most significant changes occurring after a series of sessions.
At Aventis, we typically recommend 3-4 treatment sessions spaced a few weeks apart to achieve optimal results, with follow-up sessions over the long term to help maintain tone and radiance.

The science behind how Moxi works
The Moxi laser treatment is a non-ablative fractional laser that targets skin imperfections while leaving the skin surface largely intact.
Compared with aggressive lasers that can remove large areas of skin, Moxi uses controlled micro-bursts of 1927 nm wavelength energy to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes, encouraging collagen and elastin production and kick-starting cell renewal beneath the surface.
