Aventis Dental is the home of dedicated, expert periodontal care in the Cayman Islands.
Dr Janish Grewal, our in-house specialist periodontist, focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of gum diseases that affect the supporting structures of the teeth and often integrates periodontal care with our wider clinical treatments, including dental implants, endodontics, and prosthodontics (tooth restoration and replacement).

If you’re experiencing any of the following, you’ll need help from specialist periodontist Dr Grewal.

Together with Dr Grewal, our patients can treat and manage conditions such as gingivitis, periodontal disease, periodontitis, and receding gums.

At Bond Dental, preventive dentistry includes care for both the teeth and the supporting structures that keep them healthy. Periodontal treatments focus on the gums, periodontal ligament, and bone surrounding the teeth, and are just as important to your overall oral health as treatments for the teeth themselves.
These specialist therapies help to prevent, diagnose, and manage gum conditions such as gingivitis, periodontitis, and other forms of gum disease, supporting long-term oral health and stability.
Also referred to as scaling and root planing, periodontal deep cleaning is an advanced, non-surgical treatment that carefully removes plaque and tartar from below the gum line and smooths the tooth roots to help the gums reattach and heal. The treatment is aimed at reducing inflammation, controlling infection and preventing further bone and gum loss. It’s often the first step in managing gum disease.
This procedure is designed for patients with receding gums and exposed tooth roots. Our periodontists will carefully place new healthy gum tissue over areas of recession to improve coverage, reduce sensitivity, and prevent further damage. Gum grafting will not only improve the appearance of your smile but also help maintain gum health over the long term.
Gum lifts, often referred to as gingivectomy or crown lengthening, reshape the gum line to improve the appearance and health of your gums and smile. It’s typically recommended to treat cases of excessive gum tissue (gummy smiles) to achieve more balanced aesthetics or to prepare the teeth for cosmetic treatments such as veneers.
Recommended for advanced gum disease, the regenerative procedure aims to rebuild lost bone and tissue. Using specialised dental techniques, such as bone grafts and the introduction of membranes or growth factors, enables this procedure to encourage the natural regeneration of the teeth’s supporting structures. It’s best to stabilise the teeth and restore oral health.
Also known as flap surgery, pocket reduction reduces the depth of periodontal pockets caused by gum disease. The gums are gently raised to clean infected areas, then repositioned to fit more securely around the teeth, eliminating black, triangular gaps between teeth. Over time, the procedure helps prevent bacteria from becoming trapped in pockets, making ongoing oral hygiene more effective.

Periodontal disease often proves challenging for non-specialists, hygienists and general dental practices to treat – especially when the disease has progressed into the more advanced states.
At our clinic in George Town, patients have access to a registered specialist in periodontics who can manage and, in many cases, reverse the most complex cases.
Under the care of our leading periodontist, Dr Grewal, you can improve the appearance affected by gum disease, get the condition under control, and enjoy regular hygiene appointments that help keep your gums clean and healthy.
