Inlays and onlays are used in a similar way to a filling, to help repair a broken tooth or cavity. However, unlike conventional fillings, they are made from porcelain in a dental lab. This means that they fit into the cavity within the tooth like a jigsaw puzzle. They are also a more conservative option, requiring less tooth to be removed compared to a normal crown. The porcelain means they are beautifully smoothed and shaped exactly like your original tooth as well as being much stronger and less likely to break.
Getting an inlay or onlay fitted is very similar to receiving a conventional crown but they are much kinder for the tooth as less of the healthy tooth has to be removed. During your treatment, we will provide you with noise cancelling headphones, and there are even in-ceiling TV screens to entertain and distract you.
At Aventis Dental & Facial Aesthetics, we only use the highest quality materials and thanks to Dr Jonathan’s high level of restorative skill, every single one is fitted with great care and an eye for detail. Made with porcelain, all Aventis onlays and inlays are designed to look as natural as possible and to match the colour to all your natural teeth.
